Organisation History
NEWSKILLS Ltd was formed in 1995, as part of a government initiative, NETTFORCE, to develop and promote traineeships across the transport distribution and process manufacturing industries. In its first three years, NEWSKILLS was responsible for the development and implementation of traineeships across all states of Australia and generated over 3000 traineeships.
At the conclusion of the government funded Nettforce program in 1998, NEWSKILLS Ltd continued to operate by marketing its services directly to industry and by developing a group-training organisation and RTO - to create new industry employment and training opportunities.
NEWSKILLS is the industry's only not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation assisting TDL employers to tailor training programs, wherever their sites are located. In doing so NEWSKILLS has created many employment opportunities for new entrants into the TDL industry, increasing the participation of young people, females and disadvantaged groups into the workforce.
